Scientific Director, International Medical Affairs - Gastroenterology - Remote

Overview

The Scientific Director, International Medical Affairs - Gastroenterology provides medical and scientific strategic and operational input into core medical affairs activities including but not limited to: health-care professional and provider interactions; generation of clinical and scientific data (enhancing therapeutic benefit and value); internal and external educational initiatives (medical education, scientific communications, training, and value proposition) and safeguarding patient safety (risk minimization activities and safety surveillance activities).

In Short

• Works closely with commercial teams to provide strategic medical input into core brand strategies.
• Develops and maintains professional relationships with key opinion leaders.
• Leads and coordinates scientific and medical activities with internal stakeholders.
• Provides scientific/medical education to investigators and clinical monitors.
• Initiates medical affairs activities and generation of supporting data.
• Leads external Medical Affairs activities such as advisory boards and training.
• Assists in developing scientifically accurate marketing materials and programs.
• Ensures budgets and compliance requirements are factored into programs.
• Participates in the design and reporting of scientific content for clinical studies.
• Responsible for understanding regulatory requirements for clinical studies.

Requirements

• Medical Doctorate (M.D.) or PhD in relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical trial or medical affairs experience.
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to run a clinical study independently.
• Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Experience working within Gastroenterology is highly preferred.
