Overview

The Senior Manager, Privacy Engineering at 1Password will lead the design, development, and delivery of privacy-preserving systems and practices across the company, ensuring privacy is embedded at every stage of the development lifecycle.

In Short

• Lead the development of 1Password’s privacy engineering strategy.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance partners to translate regulatory obligations into technical requirements.
• Drive the implementation of privacy-by-default controls.
• Work with engineering and product teams to embed privacy reviews into the SDLC.
• Partner with Security and GRC teams for compliance efforts.
• Represent privacy engineering in company-wide initiatives.
• Establish metrics and internal education programs on privacy.
• Mentor engineers and privacy champions to build a privacy-first culture.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in privacy or security engineering.
• Strong understanding of privacy-by-design principles and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with data minimization and secure data architecture.
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies.
• Strong technical fluency in engineering discussions.
