Overview

As a Senior Kafka Software Developer at Parsons, you will be working closely with our partners as well as data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data-driven strategies are effective and aligned with our organizational goals.

In Short

• Design, develop, and maintain Kafka-based data streaming applications
• Optimize Kafka performance and troubleshoot issues
• Familiarity with schema registry design and Kafka streams implementation
• Strong REST API development
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions
• Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and Infrastructure as Code
• Develop scalable web-based data visualization and analytic platforms
• Operate in an agile development environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Conduct design reviews and write comprehensive test procedures

Requirements

• B.S. in Software Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 9 years software engineering experience
• Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD practices
• Experience developing in a Linux environment
• Experience using scripting languages such as bash
• Experience with agile project management tools
• Experience with container-based systems such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Excellent software testing skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance required
