Senior Lead Climate Scientist - Remote

Overview

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Lead Climate Scientist to support our company’s growing Resilience Services Practice and our Climate, Resilience and Sustainability Team. This is a full-time position located in any of our 100+ offices in the United States with the possibility of remote work.

In Short

• Lead the development and application of technical workflows for quantitatively analyzing environmental data.
• Research appropriate climate stressor thresholds for climate impact assessments.
• Support the quantitative analysis of exposure, vulnerability, risks, and resilience.
• Prepare documentation summarizing methodologies and results for various audiences.
• Participate on multiple projects and lead selected technical project tasks.
• Contribute to a diverse team of experts for effective data-driven analysis.
• Support clients and participate in client meetings.
• Develop strategic business plans and collaborate with sector leads.
• Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in atmospheric science, climate science, or related quantitative field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Advanced understanding of climate change processes and models.
• Experience with tools and coding scripts for data processing.
• Technical capabilities in project design and delivery.
• Experience communicating technical analysis to non-technical audiences.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality reviews.
• Ability to innovate on challenging topics.
• Experience working independently and remotely.
• Proven track record of workplace safety compliance.
