Accounting Manager - Remote

Overview

The Accounting Manager plays a vital role in the day-to-day management of our monthly accounting cycle by overseeing all activities involved in maintaining the books and records of our broker-dealer entity. This position is expected to take a role in the working with the accounting team in completing the processes and tasks required to ensure timely, successful completion of month-end close, completeness and accuracy of financial reports, and adherence to procedures and internal controls.

In Short

• Manage the monthly revenue close processes to ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606.
• Review and reconcile accruals, reversals, invoicing schedules, and account reconciliations.
• Review commission calculations and accruals.
• Manage all account receivable collections and delinquent accounts.
• Collaborate with other departments for intercompany transactions.
• Assist with month-end close activities including deal review and account reconciliation.
• Participate in improving policies and procedures for close processes.
• Support Salesforce and NetSuite financial system integration projects.
• Assist with onboarding new acquisitions into accounting systems.
• Provide timely customer service regarding payment issues.

Requirements

• Must have Broker Dealer experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business with emphasis in accounting.
• Must be extraordinarily detail-oriented.
• Highly skilled in Excel Spreadsheets.
• Skilled in MS Word and good writing skills.
• Very good verbal skills.
• Excellent work habits and willingness to meet deadlines.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting required.
• Experience in financial services and broker-dealers required.
• NetSuite experience preferred.
