Per Diem Clinical Pharmacist - Medicine / Surgery - Remote

Overview

The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking motivated individuals to join our team of diverse Internal Medicine and Surgery Clinical Pharmacists in a per diem capacity. This role involves delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care for a diverse inpatient population.

In Short

• Work a minimum of 16 hours (2 shifts) every 4 weeks.
• Provide therapeutic recommendations and respond to drug information questions.
• Engage in a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal medication therapy.
• Conduct practice-related research and compliance initiatives.
• Assume responsibility for safe and effective medication therapy.
• Participate in training medical, nursing, and allied health professionals.
• Manage appropriate use of medications according to standards.
• Adjust care based on patient response and needs.
• Provide clinical interventions to prevent medication adverse events.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts within the department.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in Massachusetts.
• Postgraduate residency/fellowship training is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge in areas like IV Admixtures and Drug Information.
• Attention to detail and ability to assess patient data.
• Familiarity with pharmacy practice settings and legal requirements.
• Ability to work independently and participate in training.
• Must complete 20 continuing education credits per year.
