Landfill Gas Technician - Remote

Overview

This position reports to the Gas Operations Manager and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS). The GCCS consists of a series of extraction points known as wells, interconnected via piping. The collected gas is transported using gas conveyance equipment (such as a fan or blower). Proper operation of the GCCS is required to comply with various State and Federal environmental regulations.

• Perform wellfield valve adjustments and data collection.
• Use PVC or HDPE piping materials for maintenance.
• Complete WM Landfill Gas Technician I Training.
• Understand environmental regulations related to GCCS operations.
• Follow health and safety requirements.
• Available for on-call response to malfunctions.
• Work independently without direct supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in waste/landfill industry preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to handle physical tasks and work outdoors.
