Mortgage Originator - Remote

Overview

Primarily responsible for working with customers interested in identifying and obtaining permanent FHA/VA and conventional mortgage loans and other residential mortgage programs that best meet the customer’s financial needs and objectives, and adhering to the requirements of federal registration under the SAFE Act.

In Short

• Interviews applicants to collect and analyze information regarding their financial status.
• Independently assesses applicant’s credit worthiness.
• Issues pre-qualification statements of borrowers’ eligibility.
• Advises customers on mortgage products and their advantages/disadvantages.
• Markets and promotes the bank’s mortgage products.
• May require travel to customers’ locations.
• Negotiates loan terms with mortgagors.
• Ensures compliance with lending regulations and bank policies.
• Monitors trends in the local real estate market.
• Represents the bank in the community to develop business.

Requirements

• Associates degree and 2 years sales experience, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of FHA/VA regulations and real estate law.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Self-motivated and well-organized.
• Ability to interact professionally with various income levels.
