The Medical Assistant at Oak Street Health plays a crucial role in gathering medical information to support healthcare providers in making informed decisions for patient care.

In Short

  • Assist in patient assessments and routine diagnostic testing.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow and timely rooming of patients.
  • Respond to patient requests for telephonic support.
  • Administer vaccinations and perform point of care tests.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Participate in care team meetings for patient care discussions.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks and maintain lab equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with teammates to enhance patient experience.
  • Required to have state or national certification and CPR/BLS certification.
  • Must have experience with Electronic Medical Records.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use multiple programs.
  • Proficiency in non-English languages preferred.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in a Medical Assistant role.
  • Phlebotomy Technician Certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changes.
  • US work authorization required.
