Senior Director, Strategy and Operations - Remote

Overview

The Senior Director, Strategy and Operations will lead WEF’s efforts to turn strategic intent into coordinated action and measurable results, ensuring seamless execution of the strategy while managing community advisor support.

In Short

• Lead and coordinate implementation of the Work Plan activities.
• Develop systems for tracking and reporting on department operations and finances.
• Serve as WEF’s in-house technical expert on water infrastructure.
• Manage community advisor support to WEF’s volunteer technical communities.
• Ensure strategic priorities are embedded in budgets and staffing plans.
• Collaborate with Business Development to identify innovative revenue streams.
• Communicate progress and impact through partnerships with Marketing & Communications.
• Promote organizational alignment across departments.
• Shape future plans in collaboration with strategy leads.
• Monitor and report on impact with systems and dashboards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, economics, or related field required.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering or environmental science strongly preferred.
• 12+ years of experience with 7+ years of people leadership.
• Formal project management certification (PMP) preferred.
• Proven success in executing multi-year organizational strategies.
• Expertise in translating strategic plans into actionable work plans.
• Deep knowledge of water infrastructure and policy.
• Experience managing and mentoring teams.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 25% of the year.
