Volatus Health is a well-funded startup founded by top medical experts in the field of reproductive health along with tech entrepreneurs. We are building a next-generation software platform from the ground up for fertility clinics that will greatly improve outcomes for patients and medical staff.

• Seeking a highly seasoned Senior Backend Engineer.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and production backends required.
• Strong database skills and API integration experience needed.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience with medical devices and systems is highly desired.
• Responsible for designing and managing data models.
• Ensure database performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Work closely with a team to expand our SaaS application.
• Opportunity to build parts of the application from scratch.
• Ideal candidates should be +/- 4 hours Pacific Time.

Requirements

• PostgreSQL mastery: data modeling, query performance, transactions, triggers, scaling.
• Experience with RBAC/ABAC and Row Level Security.
• Experienced securing data in production environments.
• Advanced experience integrating with external APIs.
• Experience programmatically interacting with LLMs or AI models.
• Advanced database testing experience and security audits.
• Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript and SQL.
• Experience with NodeJS and/or NextJS frameworks.
• Solid computer science fundamentals.
