Controls/Systems Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Controls/Systems Engineer at 3M will collaborate with innovative teams to improve machine efficiency and ensure high productivity in manufacturing settings.

In Short

• Increase machine efficiency and yield through controls and programming projects.
• Provide real-time troubleshooting of controls related issues.
• Mentor and coach plant engineering employees.
• Improve process capability using various engineering tools.
• Troubleshoot defects and perform root cause analysis.
• Create and maintain product/process documentation.
• Engage in daily operations to resolve equipment downtime issues.
• Establish a network of support across multiple departments.
• Function as a technical resource within the work group.
• May require up to 5% domestic travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Five years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Allen Bradley and FANUC systems.
• Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Experience with injection molding processes is a plus.
• Training in continuous improvement methods and Six Sigma is beneficial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated project leadership and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize and remain flexible.
• Legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
