Senior Researcher for Department of Defense - Remote

Overview

Vistra has an immediate opening for a Senior Researcher to support Department of Defense clients. The Senior Researcher will demonstrate expert understanding of social science disciplines, research methodology, and statistics to investigate, analyze, and evaluate policies, programs, and procedures that relate to prevention of harmful behaviors in the military. This position develops solutions to a variety of problems of high scope and complexity.

• Support and inform social science, public health, or workplace climate research.
• Conduct literature reviews and assess research quality.
• Apply scientific research/data science methods.
• Interpret statistical findings for non-technical audiences.
• Provide clear communications to stakeholders.
• Draft and present information papers.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Guide activities of junior employees.
• Travel up to 25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree (complete or ABD) and 3+ years related experience.
• Experience in social science, public health, or workplace climate assessments.
• Familiarity with literature reviews and research methods.
• Ability to interpret statistical findings.
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in health promotion policies in a military setting preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently.
