Analytics Engineer - Remote

Overview

As an Analytics Engineer in Viasat’s Insight, Analytics and Reporting (IAR) team, you will play a key role in building and evolving the analytics layer to power AI-driven insights and advanced decision making across all business segments.

In Short

• Develop high quality data models that transform raw data into clean, analytics ready datasets.
• Work closely with Insights Partners to understand data requirements.
• Implement and maintain data quality checks and documentation.
• Support Agile delivery practices by participating in sprint planning and reviews.
• Write performant SQL queries for business dashboards and reporting.
• Design scalable data solutions that meet immediate business needs.
• Investigate and resolve data issues in collaboration with Data Engineering.
• Document key logic and assumptions within data models.
• Prioritize work based on business impact.
• Identify opportunities for reducing manual effort across datasets.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL skills with experience in modern data warehouses.
• Hands-on experience with dbt or similar transformation tools.
• Strong data modeling principles and best practices.
• Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Good understanding of Python in data applications.
• Comfort working in Agile environments.
