Patient Billing Specialist (Part-Time) - Remote

Overview

The part-time Patient Billing Specialist role is responsible for resolving claim-related payment issues at Valera. This role will manage the company's outstanding accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment collection by monitoring accounts, processing incoming payments, resolving billing discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records to support the organization's financial health.

• Work on follow-up claim queues and phone queues.
• Track and follow up on information requests from payers, providers, and patients.
• Achieve goals set by supervisor regarding error-free work and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a medical billing department/office.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare medical collections preferred.
• Strong reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Associate Degree/CPB certification preferred, but not required.
• Mental health experience is a plus.
