In Short

• Work on the Consumer Platform team to enhance consumer experiences.
• Build reliable feature-level services in Kotlin/Ruby.
• Contribute to full-stack tasks using React/Next.js.
• Resolve bugs and production issues with mentorship.
• Drive small enhancements for code quality and developer workflows.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Engage in regular on-site collaboration sessions.
• Support Upstart's mission of enabling access to effortless credit.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Up to 4 years of software development experience.
• Familiarity with at least one backend language (Kotlin, Java, Ruby).
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React/Next.js).
• Knowledge of SQL databases and domain modeling.
• Strong communication skills.
• Preferred: Internship or bootcamp experience.
• Exposure to cloud-native environments (AWS).
• Basic understanding of API design and microservices.
• Interest in platform engineering.
