Billing Specialist II - Remote

Overview

The Billing Specialist II is responsible for maintaining, improving, processing, and evaluating the billing of accounts receivable and resolving complex payer claim issues for the University of Maryland Medical System.

In Short

• Complete assigned account and claim edit work queues in the patient accounting system.
• Edit and bill claims from ePremis within assigned alpha split.
• Assign appropriate hold codes to claims requiring additional research.
• Assist accounts to the appropriate department that fail edits.
• Report claim or system issues with patient accounts to management.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Three years’ experience with institutional or professional billing and/or collections.
• Experience processing regulated or unregulated claims.
• Medical billing and coding certification preferred.
