Overview

The Communications & Outreach Specialist at the University of Chicago's Research Computing Center (RCC) is responsible for increasing the visibility of the RCC through effective communication, marketing, and outreach strategies.

In Short

• Plan and disseminate information to keep the public informed about the RCC.
• Draft and coordinate communications and marketing materials.
• Manage RCC’s social media presence.
• Plan and coordinate events and outreach activities.
• Compile and analyze metrics related to events and outreach.
• Organize RCC’s participation in campus events.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners.
• Write annual reports and other special materials.
• Maintain the RCC website.
• Proactively seek additional outreach opportunities.

Requirements

• College or university degree in a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in a related job discipline.
• Strong writing skills for diverse audiences.
• Experience in event planning and marketing collateral development.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strategic and creative thinking abilities.
• Attention to detail and professionalism.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Experience in an IT or academic environment is preferred.
