Junior Software Engineer - Work From Home - Remote

Overview

The Junior Software Engineer will support the development team by maintaining, customising, and optimising existing systems and integrations across platforms such as Airtable, Grafana, and Business Central. This role is designed to alleviate the workload on senior developers by taking ownership of system upkeep, automation scripts, and low-complexity enhancements, without building entire systems from scratch.

In Short

• Perform system-level customisation, configuration, and automation using Python and related tools
• Maintain and enhance workflows within Airtable, including custom scripts and API integrations (critical platform)
• Support dashboard and reporting updates in Grafana (ideal)
• Assist in maintaining business logic and configuration in Business Central
• Monitor and support AWS environments, including usage of Amazon Lambda, S3, and EC2 as needed
• Respond to internal requests for updates, bug fixes, and feature adjustments
• Document system configurations, process changes, and updates in shared repositories
• Collaborate with senior developers to ensure changes align with broader system architecture
• Escalate complex system issues or development needs to the core engineering team

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python programming
• Experience with Airtable and its API
• Familiarity with Grafana and dashboard reporting
• Knowledge of Business Central
• Understanding of AWS services including Lambda, S3, and EC2
• Ability to document processes and configurations clearly
• Strong collaboration skills with senior developers
• Problem-solving skills for system issues
