Tax Accountant - Remote

Overview

Trupanion is looking for a dynamic, upbeat, and highly curious Tax Accountant who will play a key role in the preparation of U.S. and Canadian tax returns, while working in a collaborative and pet-friendly environment.

In Short

• Preparation of US federal and state income tax returns and quarterly payments/extensions.
• Tax-related monthly close tasks including accrual of various taxes.
• Assist with filing of sales tax, excise tax, and other indirect tax returns.
• Engage with tax officials to resolve notices and provide support for tax audits.
• Recommend and support implementation of process improvements.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of tax laws and current developments.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 1-3 years of tax experience in a large public accounting firm or large multi-state company.
• Corporate U.S. Federal or State income tax compliance experience required.
