Front Range Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) Project Manager - Remote

Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join Trout Unlimited and use your talents to improve water quality and fisheries in Colorado watersheds impacted by historic hardrock mining. TU is hiring a self-motivated and competent person to facilitate and execute abandoned mine land reclamation and stream restoration projects in front-range watersheds across Colorado. This project manager will take projects from start to finish, developing project concepts, obtaining project funding, managing project implementation, and completing grant/funder reports.

In Short

• Manage and coordinate abandoned mine land reclamation and construction projects.
• Develop requests for proposals and evaluate contractor bids.
• Coordinate water and soil quality monitoring activities.
• Manage engineering and outside consultants for project designs.
• Generate project funds through grant writing.
• Conduct outreach and engage private landowners.
• Work closely with TU staff and stakeholders.
• Perform administrative duties including budget management.
• Travel throughout Colorado for project implementation.
• Work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; preference for a graduate degree.
• 3-7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with construction oversight and project management.
• Demonstrated performance in grant writing.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in partnership.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, GIS, and CAD software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Passion for protecting and restoring trout fisheries.
