Data Platform Engineer II (Java, AWS, Flink) - Remote

Overview

Tripadvisor is looking for a Data Platform / Software Engineer II to join our fast-moving tracking and experimentation group. In this role, you will help us build, upgrade, and sustain successful tracking and experimentation infrastructure to serve the world’s largest and most trusted travel site.

In Short

• Build features end to end and work with various technologies.
• Participate in planning and initial steps for key site changes.
• Touch code at all levels from client ingestion to data storage.
• Have a CI/CD mindset with frequent code releases.
• Ensure code quality through leadership in design and code review.
• Collaborate closely with Product and design teams.
• Work alongside other engineering groups globally.
• Take on projects with independence and a mandate to improve.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial software development.
• Strong development history with Java.
• Exposure to HTML5, JavaScript, React, GraphQL, SQL, Postgres, Linux, Python.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Ability to break down complex problems into simple solutions.
• Strong analytical skills and pride in your work.
