Overview

The Inland Marine Claim Representative is responsible for investigating, evaluating, reserving, negotiating, and resolving assigned claims related to bodily injury and property damage, ensuring quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle.

In Short

  • Investigate and evaluate claims of moderate severity.
  • Negotiate claims with insureds and claimants.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
  • Maintain effective diary management for timely claim handling.
  • Consult with legal counsel as needed.
  • Document claim file activities as per established procedures.
  • Attend legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Provide quality customer service throughout the claims process.
  • Manage damages through cost evaluation tools.
  • Acquire and maintain necessary insurance licenses.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year liability or property claim handling experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2 years business experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
