Finance Officer - Remote

Overview

The Finance Officer provides support to the International Finance Manager to ensure accountability to the programme’s finance functions, primarily responsible for daily accounting and cash management functions.

In Short

• Review and verify payment ensuring internal control procedures are met.
• Ensure donor audit compliance requirements are met.
• Deliver clear accounting of all HALO financial transactions.
• Process monthly payroll in a timely manner.
• Support budgeting and financial planning for the programme office.
• Supervise future Finance Assistants and conduct performance appraisals.
• Monitor and reconcile bank balances continuously.
• Help implement HALO’s budget and reporting system.
• Prepare accounts for review and certification by the International Finance Manager.
• Ensure all staff follow purchasing and payment procedures.

Requirements

• Experience in finance and accounting.
• Proficiency in financial software, preferably NetSuite.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Experience with budgeting and financial planning.
