In Short

• Develop the Tailscale product, focusing on networking features and optimizations.
• Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers.
• Design, build, test, and document core networking software components.
• Optimize product features in control plane and networking protocols.
• Troubleshoot complex networking issues.
• Build for observability and participate in incident response.
• Analyze and improve networking systems efficiency.
• Ensure robust and secure networking components.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Significant experience with networking software.
• Deep understanding of networking concepts.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL databases.
• Experience with Go is a plus.
• Ability to give and process constructive feedback.
• Flexibility to adjust to a startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
