Field Evaluation Engineer - Remote

Overview

TÜV SÜD America Inc., a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification is currently seeking experienced persons to work as Field Evaluation Engineers/Electrical Inspectors on client projects related to electrical equipment and machinery. The Engineer/Inspector will use experience and expertise to perform testing and inspection at vendor locations within North America. US-based candidates are sought for these opportunities.

In Short

• Conduct Field Labelling Evaluations in accordance with TUV program requirements.
• Effectively schedule and execute assigned evaluation.
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers.
• Execute all work in a professional manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge of US regulatory standards and code requirements.
• Liaise with other staff to ensure consistency and accuracy of methods and interpretations.
• Participate in and promote process improvements.
• Provide travel and expense cost estimates as requested.
• Report and track defects found during testing.
• Review pre-evaluation documents to understand the objectives of the assignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent technical education.
• A minimum of 2 years of directly related inspection and test experience.
• Experience with NEC NFPA 70 and US standards.
• Ability to travel to US client sites with frequent overnight travel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills; verbal, written, and active listening skills.
• Strong engineering knowledge and understanding of testing requirements.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks.
