AVP Integration Engineer – OnePay - Remote

Overview

Synchrony is seeking a skilled and motivated Integration Engineer to join our integration team dedicated to supporting OnePay, a Synchrony partner serving millions of customers in a new, first-of-its-kind credit card program for Walmart. This role offers an excellent opportunity to step into a technical leadership role within an agile team environment while deepening your expertise in fintech integrations.

In Short

• Act as a technical leader within the OnePay Integration Agile team.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable integration solutions.
• Ensure API performance, security, and interoperability.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects.
• Promote best practices around API development.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
• Participate in defining CI/CD pipelines and testing automation.
• Monitor and address API reliability and availability issues.
• Document architectural decisions and integration flows.
• Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in IT or 8 years without a degree.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot.
• Hands-on expertise with testing tools like JUnit and Postman.
• Familiarity with front-end JavaScript frameworks is advantageous.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS.
• Knowledge of API management tools.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in Agile Scrum or Kanban teams.
• Ability to travel for business as required.
