The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist is responsible for examining medical records to ensure accurate and complete documentation, supporting proper coding and reimbursement, and enhancing documentation practices within the healthcare organization.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, RN, Pharmacist, or related degree.
  • 5 years of inpatient clinical experience.
  • 2+ years in clinical documentation or coding.
  • Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • CCDS or CDIP certification required.
  • Ability to interpret clinical documentation and lab results.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing education.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
