(Senior) IT System Administrator - Linux - Remote

Overview

Ströer Connections is looking for a (Senior) IT System Administrator with a focus on Linux to join their team in Berlin, responsible for planning, configuring, and managing IT infrastructure.

In Short

• Plan, procure, and configure IT infrastructure with a focus on Open Source & Cloud.
• Install updates, set up servers, and manage networks using automation tools like Ansible or Puppet.
• Monitor and optimize system security with IDS, Wazuh, and modern firewall technologies.
• Operate and develop a highly available server farm with hundreds of VMs.
• Support office IT (MacOS & Windows) and assist the team with technical questions.

Requirements

• Completed studies or training in Computer Science or a related field with at least 2 years of experience as a system administrator.
• Proficient in Linux (Debian), MacOS, and Windows.
• Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible), databases (MySQL, MongoDB), and authentication systems (LDAP, Active Directory).
• Interest in IT security with experience in tools like Wazuh, IDS, or ElasticSearch.
• Ability to administer networks and firewalls (e.g., HAProxy, iptables, Juniper) and use monitoring tools like Icinga or Observium.
• Knowledge of cloud and virtualization technologies like OpenNebula, AWS, MS 365, Ceph, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with applications like Jira, Bitbucket, or Tomcat is a plus.
