Shopify Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Shopify Engineer at Stay, you will play a crucial role in onboarding new merchants to the Stay platform, providing theme work for those merchants.

In Short

• Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/ES6.
• Implement responsive, mobile-first designs and ensure cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaborate with onboarding managers and back-end developers to translate UI/UX wireframes into functional, polished storefronts.
• Design with an eye for site speed, accessibility, and overall performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to themes, storefront performance, and integrations.

Requirements

• Stay current with Shopify updates, front-end best practices, and emerging technologies.
• 2–4+ years of experience as a Front-End Developer, with a focus on eCommerce.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify theme development and the Liquid templating language.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
• Understanding of SEO best practices and web performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with minimal oversight in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fast-moving environment.
