Assistant Controller - Remote

Overview

The Assistant Controller will oversee critical areas of the month-end close, customer contract reviews, technical accounting, and tax compliance within Spreedly's growing Accounting team.

In Short

• Own key components of the monthly close process.
• Perform and oversee account reconciliations.
• Review customer contracts for revenue recognition.
• Contribute to the year-end audit process.
• Support tax compliance with external advisors.
• Identify and lead process improvements.
• Act as a NetSuite power user.
• Leverage AI to improve accounting processes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams.
• Review work of team members for accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
• Experience with external audits.
• Proficient in NetSuite.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Initiative in improving processes.
