Assistant Controller - Remote

Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Accounting/Finance team at J.S. Held, a global consulting firm that combines technical, scientific, financial, and strategic expertise. This is a remote role with the expectation to travel as necessary for meaningful team meetings.

In Short

• Supervise accounts payable and general accounting departments.
• Own the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Deliver consolidated financial statements to summarize the company’s financial status.
• Manage and lead change while building process improvements.
• Assess current accounting operations and implement new processes.
• Identify key movements in the margin for month-end closing.
• Manage all aspects of the general ledger.
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses.
• Research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP.
• Analyze and report cost variances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• International experience is a must.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel.
• Collaborative attitude with a desire to work with a mission-driven team.
