Senior Data Engineer - Music - Remote

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to become a part of the S4A Product Area, building the most powerful tools available to allow artists & labels to see all the data on how their music is performing on Spotify in one place with tools and insights to help them identify ways to take action on growth trends and amplify their music on the platform.

In Short

• Architect, build and scale batch data pipelines on Scio and GCP.
• Collaborate and advise on backend services.
• Work with Product and Design to define and develop important metrics.
• Prioritize and address technical debt for stability and cost efficiency.
• Drive optimization, testing, and tooling to improve data quality.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists.
• Work in agile teams to experiment and deliver on new product objectives.

Requirements

• Experience with large-scale heterogeneous data and distributed systems.
• Proficient in writing distributed data pipelines in Java or Scala.
• Knowledgeable about data modeling, access, and storage techniques.
• Advocate for agile software processes and data-driven development.
• Strong collaboration and coordination skills across teams.
• Commitment to team development through mentorship.
