Platform Engineer with Kafka Expertise - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Data-as-a-Service Engineer with deep expertise in Apache Kafka to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the go-to expert for all Kafka-related work, helping to shape our architecture, drive best practices, and guide our engineering teams in scaling, monitoring, and optimizing our data streaming platform.

In Short

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our event streaming platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring on best practices related to Kafka.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Automate operations and support continuous integration and deployment.
• Contribute to platform strategy and help evolve our infrastructure.

Requirements

• Expert-level knowledge of Apache Kafka.
• Strong background in platform engineering and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, especially GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitLab.
• Skilled in Python and Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with core cloud networking components.
• Comfortable with monitoring and logging tools.
• Self-driven and able to make technical decisions independently.
