Senior Electrical Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Smiths Detection, you will be responsible for the development and enhancement of electronic components for security screening technology, contributing to making the world a safer place.

In Short

• Develop and enhance electronic components for x-ray systems.
• Design analog and digital circuits, including power electronics.
• Manage external service providers.
• Simulate electrical circuits and select electronic components.
• Oversee products throughout their lifecycle.
• Ensure functional and electrical safety, as well as EMC-compliant designs.
• Design and program microprocessors using C/C++, ARM, and FreeRTOS.
• Conduct FPGA design using VHDL.
• Qualify assemblies for production plants and suppliers both domestically and abroad.
• Create cost and project plans for development and customer projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or Embedded Systems.
• International experience is a plus.
• Team player with flexibility and resilience in an international work environment.
• Knowledge of C/C++, ARM, FreeRTOS, Python, Linux basics, SPICE, and VHDL (Vivado) is advantageous.
• Experience with version control tools like SVN and/or GIT.
• Experience in schematic and layout design with Altium or Pulsonix.
• Structured working style with analytical approach and independent work organization.
• Quick learner.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
