Classification Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Classification Specialist is responsible for supporting international trade compliance by providing accurate product classification across regions, ensuring adherence to customs regulations and maintaining best practices in compliance.

In Short

• Provide support for US customs compliance.
• Review customs activities for compliance in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
• Research product literature to determine proper HTS Codes.
• Support departmental audits and compliance operations.
• Classify products under relevant regulatory codes.
• Collaborate with internal teams on trade compliance issues.
• Manage export license applications and compliance records.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through trade agreements.
• Conduct audits of import/export processes.
• Support with Canadian HS and US Schedule B classifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience in trade compliance.
• US CBP Brokers License preferred.
• Current US CCS designation in good standing.
• Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret regulations.
• Experience in aerospace/defense industry is an asset.
• High-level computer skills, especially in Excel.
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
