Director, AI Product Lab - Remote

Overview

We're looking for a Director or VP, AI Applications to lead our AI Product Lab and join our 200+ product development organization.

In Short

• Set and Drive the vision and strategy for the application of ML and AI at Smartly.
• Mentor, grow, and empower your teams.
• Challenge and support engineers and product managers.
• Use data science and machine learning skills to optimize customer work.
• Validate new ideas by working closely with customers.
• Partner with recruiting to scale the team.
• Serve as a member of the Product Development Leadership.
• Enable individuals to do their best work.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in building services and products.
• 6+ years of experience in applying machine learning.
• 5+ years of experience in leading teams.
• Competent with key technologies in ML; PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python, SQL.
• Capability to build and test prototypes in data science.
• A pragmatic mindset focused on customer value.
• Curiosity and drive to learn continuously.
• Ability to set a long-term vision and drive execution.
• Able to mentor and develop data scientists and engineers.
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements.
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to work from the office in Helsinki or Berlin three days a week.
