Lead Engineer - Remote

Overview

As one of simpleclub’s Lead Engineers, you will play a key role in building a product and team that will impact the way millions of students experience education and learning. Working closely with our VP of Engineering and our wider technical and product leadership you will help solve for securing the performance, experience and scalability of our product. Through your ownership with the support of your team, you will lead the design of a target architecture, scaleable, whilst implementing strategies to address and mitigate technical debt.

• Lead an agile team, continuously developing simpleclub’s products and platform, like our learning management tools, algorithms and reporting systems.
• Line manage and support the growth of your team members.
• Set standards in our architecture, development, delivery and operations.
• Identify, prioritize, scope, plan and resolve technical debt.
• Participate and co-lead the discussions and setting of the product and technical OKRs.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary teams of Product Managers and designers.

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of experience as a Lead Engineer.
• Solid experience in Senior roles, including technical solution designs.
• Strong skills in back-end technologies: Node.js, Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work and lead through change and ambiguity.
• Experience in developing and maintaining scalable systems.
• Strong knowledge of modern system architectures.
• Sound knowledge of infrastructure architecture and automation (Terraform).
• Experience leading multiple product development efforts.
• Solid knowledge of DevOps practices.
