Overview

The Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer plays a critical role in transforming raw data into structured datasets that facilitate decision-making across the organization.

In Short

  • Develop and maintain dbt Core models in Snowflake.
  • Design and optimize data models to meet business reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with data engineers on ELT pipeline enhancements.
  • Automate data transformations using Python.
  • Monitor and improve query performance in Snowflake.
  • Implement data quality checks and testing frameworks.
  • Work with analysts to optimize models for self-service analytics.
  • Support data governance initiatives.
  • Engage cross-functionally with business teams.
  • 3+ years of experience required in BI engineering or analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and dbt Core.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Python for data automation.
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling and ELT/ETL principles.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Sigma or Tableau is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
