PHP Technical Lead - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a PHP Technical Lead (part-time) to join an important federal project in Germany. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on the environmental efficiency of municipalities and businesses by helping them assess and reduce their ecological footprint through practical, climate-, and resource-saving solutions.

In Short

• Develop a web application that allows users to easily select, evaluate, and track climate- and resource-saving actions in industrial zones
• Implement new features and improvements based on user feedback
• Collaborate with the team and participate in workshops and project discussions
• Present and defend technical concepts, architectural decisions, and development approaches
• Participate in offline workshops and steering meetings with the client, representing the engineering perspective
• Analyze client requirements, translate them into clear technical tasks, and ensure alignment with business needs
• Guide and support the development team, ensuring the use of best practices and high-quality delivery

Requirements

• 6+ years of proven experience in PHP development, with a strong track record of building scalable solutions
• Solid hands-on experience with modern PHP frameworks
• Strong knowledge of OOP principles and design patterns, with the ability to apply them in real projects
• Deep expertise with MySQL and database design best practices
• Confident use of Git and GitFlow for efficient collaboration
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience implementing them in practice
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP
• Fluent in German, with the ability to lead discussions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
• At least an Intermediate level of English
