Welding Manager - Remote

Overview

The Welding Manager will manage the welding department, ensuring operational efficiencies and high levels of customer service while supporting the business in various administrative tasks.

In Short

• Manage the welding department and daily administration activities.
• Ensure continuous improvement in weld testing operations.
• Lead the team in providing high levels of customer service.
• Develop and achieve sales through direct sales channels.
• Act as the key interface between SGS and welding clients.
• Support ISO 17020 / ISO 17025 accreditation.
• Monitor and supervise the workload of the welding team.
• Undertake technical training of weld department staff.
• Control and maintain financial records.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.

Requirements

• HNC and/or formal qualification in welding technology.
• CSWIP Level 3.2 (SWI).
• Clean Driving License.
• Knowledge of PED/PESR.
• Experience in non-destructive testing of welded joints.
• Experience in financial accounts and managing key clients.
• Relationship management experience.
• Production of certification for welder qualification.
