Overview

The Oregon State Police is seeking a full-time Deputy State Medical Examiner to perform autopsies and provide expert medical consultation in forensic pathology, while collaborating with county medical examiners across Oregon.

In Short

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an approved school of medicine.
  • Board certification or qualification for certification in pathology.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon or ability to obtain it.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a medical examiner team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in teaching pathology residents and medical students.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Provide samples for DNA identification index.
  • Exhibit respect for decedents.
  • Must assist in public outreach and lectures.
