Overview

As a Bioinformatics Software Technical Support Scientist at Scale Biosciences, you will play a key role in enhancing customer experience by providing expert support for bioinformatics software and helping customers troubleshoot their analysis pipelines.

In Short

  • Provide first-line bioinformatics and software support to customers.
  • Serve as a customer-facing expert on Scale Biosciences products.
  • Manage issue escalation and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Conduct peer-level consultations with scientists and bioinformaticians.
  • Gather and represent customer feedback for product development.
  • Develop training materials for software usage.
  • Participate in bioinformatics outreach and events.
  • Assist wet-lab scientists in data analysis.
  • Travel requirements: remote members up to 20%, HQ members up to 10%.

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills and customer support orientation.
  • 4 years of experience in Bioinformatics.
  • Masters or PhD in relevant fields or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in implementing and supporting bioinformatics software.
  • Proficient in diagnosing technical issues related to software applications.
  • Experience in UNIX/Linux environments and scripting.
  • Experience with NextFlow software on HPC and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing technologies.
  • Growth mindset and willingness to learn.
