In Short

  • Perform duties of AR Specialist I and II.
  • Verify and obtain eligibility and authorization from insurance carriers.
  • Update patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Research unpaid or denied claims.
  • Contact payers to secure payment of claims.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Utilize reports for analysis and follow-up activities.
  • Assist with training new hires and content building.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for colleagues.
  • Support special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of medical collections/billing experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI.
  • Expert knowledge of third-party billing guidelines and claim forms.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Intermediate knowledge of health information systems.
  • Preferred supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of DDE Medicare claim system.
  • Understanding of government rules and regulations.
