Overview

The Senior Database Engineer will be responsible for supporting, administering, managing, and tuning multi-terabyte database systems, ensuring operational stability and performance in a cloud environment.

In Short

Support and manage multi-terabyte database systems.
Investigate and resolve data replication latency issues.
Automate tasks to improve team efficiency.
Manage database/software releases through the SDLC.
Troubleshoot database engine and query performance issues.
Participate in on-call Tier-3 support rotation.
Support cloud, virtualized, and on-prem database infrastructure.
Contribute to best-in-class product support resources.
Work collaboratively with IT and other teams.
Suggest improvements for current processes and tools.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ years of hands-on database administration experience.
Extensive experience with MS SQL Server.
Familiarity with AWS is a plus.
Proficient in performance tuning and monitoring.
Basic knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience in Agile or DevOps environments preferred.
ITIL V3 Foundation Certification is a plus.
Right to work in Canada required.
