Payroll Specialist / Staff Accountant / Project Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Payroll Specialist / Staff Accountant / Project Accountant will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining the general ledger, preparing reconciliations, analyzing account data, participating in month-end close, and performing general accounting duties within the Accounting Department.

In Short

• Coordinates and performs periodic and off-cycle payroll processing.
• Provides instructions for payroll processing software application to employees.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining payroll records.
• Analyzes time sheet data and verifies with supervisors.
• Files and maintains payroll records confidentially.
• Processes payroll deductions and prepares reconciliations.
• Maintains accurate payroll data within accounting software.
• Assists with monthly client invoicing and project budget reviews.
• Prepares various account reconciliations as assigned.
• Recommends improvements to Accounting processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum three years of related experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of MS Office Suite and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of Payroll processing and general ledger reconciliation.
• Knowledge of GAAP principles.
• Excellent collaboration and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle stress.
• Knowledge of Paylocity and/or Deltek Vantagepoint software a plus.
