Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Remote

Overview

RetailNext is looking to expand our SRE team. We need people who have the skillset of good backend developers to focus on the operation and reliability of our SAAS retail analytics solution, processing data from thousands of stores to help our customers better understand and serve their clients.

In Short

• Join the SRE team to enhance the operation and reliability of a SAAS retail analytics solution.
• Work with technologies like Go, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, and more.
• Maintain stability and operationalize new features of the application.
• Participate in on-call rotation with the backend team.
• Work on projects like cloud resource management and telemetry collection.
• Strong backend programming skills required.
• Familiarity with Linux and security best practices is essential.
• Experience in SRE, DevOps, or Release Engineering is preferred.
• Bonus for experience in distributed applications and CI/CD processes.
• Remote-first hybrid work environment with flexible schedules.

Requirements

• Strong in at least one backend programming language (Go, NodeJS, Ruby, etc.).
• Familiar with Linux and its components.
• Self-motivated to learn new technologies.
• Able to debug third-party open-source software.
• Diligent about security and reliability.
• Experience in an SRE, DevOps, or Release Engineering role.
• Bonus points for experience with distributed applications.
• Experience operating Cassandra in production environments.
• Familiarity with cloud IAAS providers (GCE, EC2).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
