Junior DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer - Remote

Overview

This position involves supporting the management and administration of operational tools, contributing to monitoring, and participating in the maintenance and development of systems.

In Short

• Assist in managing and administering operational tools (e.g., Sentry, DataDog, GitLab).
• Contribute to monitoring and bring ideas for further development.
• Participate in the maintenance and development of Proxmox and Azure systems.
• Help manage the on-premises and company network (routing, port forwarding, VLAN management, VPNs).
• Support the administration of permissions and help implement automated concepts.
• Contribute to improvements in network structure and security.
• Work on adapting and developing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Assist in the maintenance and optimization of AWX playbooks (Ansible).
• Gain practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Participate in 2nd-level support for internal teams.

Requirements

• Strong motivation to learn about DevOps, cloud, and automation.
• Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn.
• Structured and careful work style with problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of Linux and command line (e.g., Bash).
• Understanding of networks (e.g., IP, routing, DNS).
• A degree or comparable practical experience in IT.
• Team spirit and good communication skills.
• Fluent in German and solid English skills.
