Overview

We are looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager with strong international experience in recruitment to join a dynamic UK-based staffing firm. This role is ideal for someone who not only excels at winning new business across global markets but also understands the nuances of talent acquisition. You'll work closely with clients to understand their hiring needs, craft compelling job briefs, and drive revenue by connecting them with top-tier talent. Your experience in both client-facing and recruiter roles will be instrumental in ensuring exceptional service delivery and sustainable business growth.

In Short

  • Develop and execute international business development strategies to attract new recruitment clients.
  • Initiate and nurture relationships with global clients, understanding their hiring requirements and workforce challenges.
  • Receive and interpret job briefs from clients and ensure smooth handover to recruitment delivery teams.
  • Maintain hands-on involvement in the recruitment process where needed, including shortlisting and candidate assessments.
  • Collaborate with recruiters to ensure timely and high-quality placements aligned with client expectations.
  • Conduct market research to identify new sectors, regions, or companies to target.
  • Build proposals and presentations tailored to client hiring objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, deals, and pipeline progress using CRM tools.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years' experience in business development within the recruitment industry, with international exposure.
  • Proven track record of securing recruitment clients and meeting revenue targets.
  • Previous experience in hands-on recruitment (in-house or agency side) is essential.
  • Strong understanding of job brief intake, role scoping, and working with recruitment delivery teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Proficient in recruitment CRMs and business development tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Bullhorn, etc.).
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.
  • Must have a reliable laptop and a stable internet connection.
