Full Stack Engineer - Remote

Overview

The Fullstack Engineer will work within the IYA Team to help improve the user experience and performance of the IYA experience, contributing to the UK’s leading local news and information platform.

• Work remotely or in a hybrid model from one of the UK hubs.
• 2-3 years of commercial experience in React and TypeScript.
• Maintain and develop code across the product following best practices.
• Champion best practices and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Experience with Vercel and React Native is a plus.
• Focus on accessibility and performance in application development.
• Engage with product managers to understand product scope.
• Contribute to substantial updates to the core IYA web product.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience with React and TypeScript.
• Understanding of test-driven development.
• Experience in maximizing accessibility and performance.
• Familiarity with managing global and dynamic states across components.
• Knowledge of how UIs consume APIs.
• Experience with Vercel is advantageous.
• Experience with React Native is a plus but not critical.
• Ability to engage and communicate effectively with product managers.
• Willingness to share knowledge and champion best practices.
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for innovation.
